STEP APP TBI
September 15, 2025

In a world rapidly shaped by emerging technologies, STEP APP Technology Business Incubator (TBI) continues to champion innovation in Region 12. This commitment was once again demonstrated as STEP APP TBI actively participated in a two-day Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence Workshop, proudly represented by its OIC–Project Lead, Ms. Kristine Mae H. Ampas.
Hosted by PSiTE Region 12 under the leadership of Mr. Donald Salminao, and in collaboration with the community program Proof of Teach led by Mr. Ruben Lacumba Jr., Founder of the Davao DeFi Community, the event gathered pioneers and game-changers in the Philippine tech ecosystem. Supporting the initiative were community builders Ms. MJ Tangaan, Ms. Christine Erispe, and Mr. Jurris Leuwe Tolosa, making the workshop a hub of learning, collaboration, and forward-thinking insights.
The workshop featured top-tier resource speakers, including Mr. John Forfar of OpenAIx — a Developer Relations expert and full-stack engineer specializing in AI and Web3. Joining him were Mr. Shiv from BuildGuidl and Mr. Sam from Lido CSM, who shared expertise on transforming industries through decentralized systems and AI-powered workflows.
✅ Blockchain fundamentals and real-world use cases
✅ AI-assisted development and live "vibe coding" demos
✅ Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) essentials
✅ Introduction to Solidity programming
✅ Tools and frameworks for teaching blockchain development
Knowledge wasn’t just shared — it was applied.
On the final day, participants showcased their ideas in a blockchain pitching competition, presenting innovative tech solutions inspired by the workshop.

STEP APP TBI’s participation underscores its continuous mission to empower young innovators, educators, and tech startups in Mindanao. With blockchain and AI leading global digital transformation, this milestone brings the incubator one step closer to building a future-ready technopreneurship ecosystem in Region 12.
As STEP APP TBI moves forward, the goal remains clear:
Equip, inspire, and launch the next generation of Filipino innovators.
